Educational institutions lack suitable computer-supported teaching and learning programmes for the required didactic work with audiovisual media products. In this research project, we develop a digital web application (TRAVIS GO) for school (music) instruction, which will allow the professional analysis of image, text and sound in audiovisual media (music video, YouTube clip, commercial, short film etc.). The web application is developed with the support and participation of teachers and school students.
On the basis of an interdisciplinary research concept interfacing theory/practice, a digital educational tool in the field of media/music pedagogy will be designed, tested and evaluated in consultation with school teaching practice. In the context of increasing audiovisual information and entertainment services (TV/Internet/Mobiles), this project aims to provide up-to-date media literacy support for students of different levels by developing a digital supported educational and learning environment.
